Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Free workshop to inform Gladstone residents about air quality monitoring 

CQUniversity will team with the EPA and the Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand to offer a specialized Air Quality Workshop to the people of Gladstone, on Tuesday March 31.

This FREE public information session will explain what air quality guidelines are and how they are set, what happens to pollutants in the air, how to interpret the results of air quality monitoring and much more.

"CQUniversity's Gladstone campus is committed to providing ongoing learning opportunities for the residents of the Gladstone region and as such this workshop will provide opportunities for people to understand the concept of air quality monitoring and what it entails. This information session is designed to empower participants to confidently participate in knowledgeable discussions surrounding the topic of air quality," said CQUniversity Gladstone Head of Campus Dr Pierre Viljoen. 

The Air Quality Workshop will be held in the Val Vallis Lecture Theatre, Martin Hanson Building CQUniversity Gladstone from 6:30pm-8pm on Tuesday, March 31 (registration from 6:15 pm).

CQUniversity teaches a series of specialised Environmental Management postgraduate and continuing professional development courses out of the Gladstone Campus. They are hands-on and state-of the-art, including theory, practice and legislation covering areas such as Air, Land, Water, Waste and Risk Management.

The University's Air Quality Management (AQM) course is holding its residential school for 2.5 days from Monday March 30.
