Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

South Korean university leaders visit CQU 

Leaders from South Korea's respected Jinju University have visited CQU (Wednesday, July 23) to forge further links.

These links will be specifically with the Language Centre and Faculty of Education and Creative Arts but could involve broader cooperation such as research links in the area of sustainable agriculture.

Jinju University President Dr Haejoo Jung (travelling with his wife) and Dean of the Planning & Research Office Professor Nam-Kyung Kim visited for talks with CQU leaders from the areas of sustainable regional development, plant sciences, language studies and international programs.

The visitors were formally welcomed by CQU Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Glenice Hancock.
