Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU staff help organise International Flavour Night

CQU staff members Rema Dhanasekar and Chrislyn Apellado are key organisers for an International Flavour Night conducted by the Central Queensland Multicultural Association.

The evening, featuring cultural presentations, entertainment, raffles and international foods, will be held at Rockhampton's Bauhina House from 6.30pm on Saturday, December 9.

Participants are encouraged to wear traditional attire and to bring a plate of food ready to eat. Entry is by gold coin and members of the public are welcome.

Rockhampton City Council is sponsoring the event.
