Surfer saved

A story has come to the attention of UniNews about David Myers, publisher of CQU Press, who works and lives on the Gold Coast and can often be seen surfing its waters.

David rescued a fellow surfboarder caught-up in some heavy currents at Currumbin Rocks last month.

Surfing late one afternoon, after work until after sunset, David rescued “a poor young kid who got swept 300 yards out to sea at the fast-flowing river mouth.” “Boy, was he happy when I off-loaded him onto a motorised jet ski,” exclaimed David.

Great black clouds of tiny bait fish were said to have been swimming in swirls and circles of schools dotted the off-shore.

“Sharks love that, so just as well to bring him back in on top of the water,” said David.

Don’t know David... sounds like making of a best seller to me.
