Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Mackay hosts cocktail function to engage community 

CQUniversity Mackay recently held a Community Engagement Cocktail Function, enabling Vice-Chancellor Professor Scott Bowman and Campus Head Dr Pierre Viljoen to share their vision for the future of CQUniversity with members of the Mackay community.

Participants included representatives of the local industry, education, business and local government sectors.

Dr Viljoen, who is also Pro Vice-Chancellor (Community and Engagement), stressed the goal of becoming "Australia's most engaged university", saying this represents the "spirit of CQUniversity".
