Bundaberg group's Islander project on national radio

The Bundaberg Media Research Group's South Sea Islander project 'Island Footprints' has been broadcast on ABC Radio National.

Radio National's Hindsight program will be repeated this Thursday, October 21, from 1pm.

It can also be accessed via www.abc.net.au/rn/history/hindsight/ .

'Island Footprints' is a story about survival, family, faith and the South Sea Islanders' long struggle for recognition.

The CQU-based Bundaberg Media Research Group spent 18 months researching, recording and producing the program with funding assistance from the ABC Regional Development Fund.

BMRG coordinator Dr Phillip Roe said Carole Colville and Jonathon Pagliano were integral to the 'Island Footprints' project.

BMRG's mission is to develop and encourage media and media-arts activities and projects (both practical and research based), especially with local communities on campus and within the Wide-bay Burnett and other regional areas.
