STEPS students seek university options for 2004

Nearly 90 per cent of the students completing Skills for Tertiary Entrance Preparatory Studies (STEPS) are seeking placements at universities in 2004.
Central Queensland University Mackay STEPS co-ordinator Lyn Forbes-Smith was thrilled by the number of students who have chosen to continue studying.
“From the 56 students who completed the preparatory studies, 50 are hoping to gain a place at universities, with three wanting to study at TAFE and another three seeking employment,” she said.
“Clearly this result shows the students have gained the confidence and skills required to undertake successful tertiary studies." CQU Mackay STEPS students attended a Completion Ceremony at the campus on Wednesday evening.
Certificates of recognition were awarded to students who successfully completed the 13-week full-time and 26-week part-time program. Picture: CQU Mackay Head of Campus Associate Professor Phillip Clift addresses those attending the 2003 STEPS Completion Ceremony.
