Jazz students from America's University of Richmond chose a good time to harmonise with Bachelor of Music students at CQUniversity recently.
Arriving in Rockhampton on Friday (May 15) with their band leader, Professor Michael Davison*, the students were involved in a campus workshop before featuring in a riverside concert on Sunday. LINK here for video of Friday's music workshop

They had another concert on campus on Monday (May 18) - including leading Australian saxophonist Graham Jesse - before heading off for performances and educational experiences on Hamilton Island.
CQUniversity's music students - some of whom are Hamilton Island gig veterans - promised to show them around the island paradise, in between harmonising on stage.
* Michael Davison is a legendary performer, respected professor, published composer, and ethnomusicologist, whose latest project is a documentary film on Cuban music.
CQUniversity Bachelor of Music program coordinator Derrin Kerr said the American and Australian university students performed together on the riverside and campus ahead of their scheduled gigs on Hamilton Island.
"The 3 days of educational and performance activities on Hamilton Island is part of a program which occurs between 4 and 6 times each year, in conjunction with the island."
