Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

The University’s new statistics web site, designed and maintained by the Analysis and Planning Unit, is now 'live' at http://cqu-stats.cqu.edu.au/.

The site is designed to meet the needs of the various University audiences.

PhotoID:220 In a memo to Staff, Vice-President & Registrar Ken Window explained the site contained information of interest to the general public, external organisations, prospective students and their parents.

Select details available only to CQU staff and for internal will require the user to enter his/her usual CQU domain username and password prior to access to these areas. Senior University management also have specific information included for internal planning purposes only.

The web site does not yet contain a full suite of information. A substantial amount data is still to be included..

“The Unit has just scratched the surface,” said Ken. More general information will be added over the next few weeks and detailed information will be included as it is developed. Email announcement and UniNews notifications will be made for major updates and inclusions.
