Emerald State High School and Marist College students are set to model examples of appropriate work-wear as part of the 2003 Careers Expo due at the Emerald Town Hall, from 1pm–6pm on Wednesday, July 30.
CQU is among 30 exhibitors from organisations, colleges and universities across the State to offer information on career options including traineeships, apprenticeships and tertiary courses.
Employment Training Advisory Network (ETAN) and CQU representative Janice Moriarty said, “the aim of the Expo is to provide visitors with a wide range of career information as well as interactive activities including a work-wear fashion parade and interactive career guidance”.
“The Expo is free and open to the whole community.
“High school students from across the Central Highlands will be visiting from 1pm– 3pm and we’re hoping others will take advantage of the 3pm-6pm timeslot.
“I urge parents, teenagers and all those re-thinking their future career options to come along and explore the abundant wealth of information available from the exhibitors.
“The 2003 Careers Expo is set to be bigger and better with ETAN members hosting the event again this year,’ Mrs Moriarty said.
Local industry, government and business representatives will also be providing valuable information on the diverse range of careers available to those living in the Central Highlands region.
