Community Invited to Public Lecture Series
Published on 15 May, 2003
A decline in physical activity was blamed for Rockhampton being tagged Australia’s “fattest city” at this week’s public lecture at Central Queensland University.
A small but enthusiastic crowd turned out for the lecture presented by 10,000 Steps’ project leader Associate Professor Kerry Mummery.
The lecture was the first in a public lecture series coordinated by CQU’s Faculty of Arts, Health & Sciences.
Upcoming lectures in this series include: Choosing Fruit...A Buyer’s Guide; Electrowinning, Rusting and Smart Sensors; and Shifting Sands: Remembering Seascapes, and Learning to Live in Coast Communities.
Choosing Fruit...A Buyer’s Guide will be presented by Associate Professor Kerry Walsh on Wednesday May 28. The lecture will be held at the Greig Turner Building (No 6) with tea and coffee from 5.30pm and the lecture commencing at 6pm. The lecture will run one hour.
