A Bob each way when it comes to career options

CQUniversity Accounting student Bob Dinte is keeping his options open as he progresses through his degree, so he can indulge at least one of his passions.

With a background and continuing interests in both music and sport, he hopes he can progress into business management, or even his own business, in a related area.

"I don't actually want to be just a simple old accountant," he said.

"I was originally interested in sports management and I guess my goal would be to be involved in a combination of management/business/finance + sport. I like the concept of being involved in running a business and any business that involves sport or music would be good.

"I even think player/music-artist management would be exciting. A dream job would be a rugby league or cricket commentator."

Mr Dinte, 20, has already been in the workforce for several years as Office Manager of Bargara Medical Centre, in the beachside community about 20km from Bundaberg.

"I enjoy money and hence I have an interest in accounting," he said.

"I was really good at maths at school and was pushed to do accounting from my family from a young age. I enjoy looking at the stock exchange and current exchange rate and watching as the Aussie dollar goes up and down."

"I love sport and music. I played rugby league, union, soccer, cricket, AFL and many other sports growing up. I did play cello and piano when I was younger but I'm more interested in DJ/music creation/mixing now."

Mr Dinte's academic results have already given him a sporting chance of success. His Term 1 GPA of 6.75 earned him a CQUniversity Continuing Scholarship (for 2nd Year Students) to the value of $4000.
