Books going cheap at CQU Mackay

The CQU Mackay annual book sale is on again this weekend, with a wide range of books selling for next to nothing.

The sale, which is held in the CQU Mackay refectory, includes close to 10,000 items donated by the public and various libraries. Items include children’s books, collector’s items, magazines, sheet music, encyclopedias, CD’s and records as well as old text books that are still useful for students.

The sale is on this Sunday September 11 from 9.30am to 3.30pm and Monday September 12 from 9am to 2pm. Prices range from 10 cents to $25.

According to Mackay Campus Library Manager Ms Pauline McNee, “the sale is one of the biggest fundraisers for the CQU Mackay campus library and proceeds are used by the library to expand and update the collection".

“We urge the community to come out and have a good time fossicking through the books,” she said. “There will be plenty of bargains on offer".
