Public welcome at entrepreneurship seminars

Australian Entrepreneur of the Year Scott Farquhar will conduct a lunch-time public seminar on entrepreneurship on Wednesday January 24 at CQU Rockhampton (building 33/G.22) from noon to 1pm.
Mr Farquhar is the co-founder and CEO of Atlassian – Australia’s fastest growing software company.
He founded the company when he was an undergraduate university student. With no external funding, Atlassian has doubled its size every year since it was formed.
In 2006, Atlassian had revenues of $15 million, and has over 5000 customers in over 65 countries. Well known customers include the Reserve Bank of Australia, Cisco, NASA, BHP, Oracle, Intel and McDonalds.
During the seminar Mr Farquhar will discuss the interesting challenges growing a company like Atlassian presents. He will outline some of the major lessons he has learned and the tools and techniques he uses to manage the company from two continents.
He will also present another public seminar on technology on Thursday January 25 from 11am to noon at CQU Rockhampton (building 33/G.22).
In this presentation, Mr Farquhar will outline the technical and IT management tools and techniques used by Atlassian in the development of their software, and how they have benefited from incorporating social software and collaboration tools into their environment.
