From all over Asia, students a success in any language

Nine students from countries throughout Asia shared a common milestone recently as they marked completion of their English for Academic Purposes course at CQUniversity's English Language Centre on Rockhampton Campus...

After a celebratory trip to the beach, the students returned to campus to accept their certificates and were pleased that other students and staff from the Language Centre assembled to offer applause and hugs.

Among those completing the course were Emilia Burhan from Indonesia and Simon Almoite from the Philippines.

Emilia is fresh out of high school and plans to enrol in a Bachelor of Medical Science, with a view to pursuing a career in nutrition.

Meanwhile, Simon has worked as a nurse in the Philippines but hopes to upgrade his qualifications with a Nursing program at CQUniversity. Longer-term, he's keen to work in intensive care or another specialty nursing field.
