Visiting teens parachuted into campus life
Published on 28 July, 2011
More than 80 Year 10 students from schools in Rockhampton and Miriam Vale were involved in an intensive 'campus experience' at CQUniversity Rockhampton this week.
The visitors had the chance to design, construct and test their own parachutes. They developed a logo, jingle and marketing campaign for a zesty new softdrink brand and also took turns in a nursing-related empathy activity called 'leading the blind'.
The Campus Experience program is designed to inspire Year 10 students and enables them to develop an understanding of roles and responsibilities in various career opportunities.
Participating schools this week were Rockhampton State High, Rockhampton Girls Grammar and Miriam Vale State School.
