Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Professor on Education Minister's Advisory Body 

Central Queensland University's Professor Richard Smith has just been appointed to the Ministerial Advisory Committee for Educational Renewal (for a period of 2 years) by invitation of the Minister of Education, Anna Bligh. The Dean of Education & Creative Arts, Professor Jim Mienczakowski, says that this is a tremendous achievement as this Committee is very important and influential in Queensland educational matters.
