Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Staff invited to tug for good cause 

CQU staff have been invited to enter teams in the Anglicare CQ Tug of War competition at Bunnings Car Park in Rockhampton.

The competition will be held from 10am on Saturday, December 11.

Prizes will be awarded in various categories and there will be "fun" activities throughout the morning.

Each team must consist of six women and six men (two of which are spares).

Teams should be nominated by November 30. Nomination costs $120 per team.

Proceeds of the event go towards the Anglicare CQ charity.
