Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Marohasy features in Murray-Darling 'great debate' 

CQUniversity adjunct research fellow Jennifer Marohasy has been prominent in the national media debate over water sharing along the Murray River.

Now she's been chosen as one of two debaters for a 'great debate' on water usage in the Murray-Darling Basin, alongside Dr Arelene Harriss-Buchan from the Australian Conservation Foundation.

The great debate will be hosted during the 2011 Ausveg National Convention, Trade Show and Awards for Excellence at the Sebel-Citigate in Brisbane on April 16.

Jennifer is a Yeppoon-based biologist and adjunct research fellow in CQUniversity's Centre for Plant and Water Science.  LINK HERE for Jennifer Marohasy's home page
