Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

The Don Burrows Tribute Tour

Jazz legend, Don Burrows will perform for Gladstone crowds on Thursday 4 July, accompanied by the Central Queesland Conservatorium of Music Jazz Orchestra.

PhotoID:102 They will also be joined by Jazz Pianist, Kevin Hunt and trumpeter, Don Rader.

The CQCM Jazz orchestra are fresh from their performance at the Darling Harbour Jazz Festival where they performed with James Morrison and Don Burrows in front of a crowd of 20,000.

Sponsorship from Central Queesland University and ABC Radio has allowed the concert to be brought to the community free of charge.
