New funding to promote multiculturalism

CQUniversity Australia recently announced the establishment of the ‘Multicultural Sponsorship Fund', setting aside $25,000 to support multiculturalism within Central Queensland.

Suzi Blair, Director, Office of Development and Graduate Relations, sees this as an excellent opportunity for CQUniversity to collaborate with local community organisations to promote greater acceptance and understanding of cultural diversity.

"Intercultural-exchange, engagement and diversity continue to be key areas for CQUniversity. We want to have meaningful relationships with community organisations to ensure that the University is able to respond more effectively to community priorities and needs," said Suzi Blair.

"While there is no closing date for applications, the current funding is only available for projects completed within 2008, so I would encourage anyone with a proposal for celebrating or promoting multiculturalism to contact us."

If you are considering an event that might benefit from funding, please contact Reegan Bickey, Office of Development and Graduate Relations on 4923 2891 or email sponsorship@cqu.edu.au .
