Ms Zahl said the College of Health & Human Services nursing group was looking forward to helping locals and also gaining a great cultural experience during the visit to Surin province, north-east of Bangkok.

"We will be rotating between the central hospital in Surin city, working alongside healthcare professionals; assisting staff in walk-in rural clinics in the surrounding areas; and learning about alternate health practices," she said.

The nursing students involved are based at a few different campuses.
