Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Noosa Hub graduate feels right at home at Pomona 

CQU Noosa Hub graduate Maxine Crawford (pictured left) has been welcomed as teacher of the Year 2/3 class at Pomona State School by the school’s Head of Campus, Dr Gwen Sands, while Principal, Peter Bradford, is farewelled on long service leave.

PhotoID:1851 Maxine performed her final-year prac placement at Pomona State School, and so impressed her mentors that they were delighted to have her fill a vacant position.

Another new recruit at Pomona State School is Maxine’s five-year-old daughter, Harriet, who commences her education in Grade 1.

Strong support for Central Queensland University’s Bachelor of Learning Management degree, delivered in partnership with Education Queensland, has created greater opportunities for both year 12 graduates and adult entry students.
