Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Melbourne graduate's career soaring with Air Force 

Former CQU Melbourne student Arun Gopalakrishnan has made the successful transition from university life into the exciting world of the Australian military.

PhotoID:2659 Arun, who completed a Graduate Diploma of Information Systems Management with CQU, recently celebrated 15 months of service in the Royal Australian Air Force.

Commencing at HMAS Cerberus near Western Port in Victoria, Arun trained as an Aircraftsman in the electronic communications field, where he studied telecommunications, radar, computers and networks.

In June 2005 he was promoted to Leading Aircraftsman and was posted to Richmond RAAF Base in NSW.
