Zimbabwean postgraduate student Denford Muteera is proving to be an asset for CQU Rockhampton.
Apart from maintaining his studies, he has made himself available as a part-time tutor for indigenous students, as a coordinator for international students wanting jobs as grape pickers and as a marketing assistant at CQU International.
His latest role is as a casual photographer for UniNews.
Denford has also been a member and marketing officer for the International Students Alliance (ISA) on campus.
"My most memorable experience with ISA was the 2003 International Nite for which I was Master of Ceremony together with Rakiza Hussein. After the International Nite, we got endless congratulatory messages about our exceptional performance that day," Denford said.
He said the Nulloo Yumbah tutoring role was a pleasant experience through which he had made many friends.
"All the students I tutored passed their courses and sometimes when I meet them outside the Uni, they often spare a moment or two with me.
"Some of these students have introduced me to their family as a sign of appreciation for the good work and relationship we had.".
