Walsh hopes Parliament talks fruitful

CQU fruit quality researcher Associate Professor Kerry Walsh hopes his face-to-face meeting with Queensland Child Safety Minister Hon Mike Reynolds this week will be fruitful.

Dr Walsh represented CQU at the Science in Parliament event (Wednesday, October 6) in Brisbane, and was 'matched' with Minister Reynolds.

The CQU researcher, who also attended last year's event, said there were also opportunities for wider networking with other MPs.

Science in Parliament is a unique event that encourages dialogue between scientists and all Members of the Queensland Parliament.

It helps raise awareness of contemporary science and research issues that impact on the Smart State.

For one day, scientists and Parliamentarians come together to interact, meet and discuss science, research and innovation.

This year's theme was "Queensland in 2025 - through the eyes of science".

The event is organisd by the Office of the Queensland Chief Scientist (www.chiefscientist.qld.gov.au).
