QCWA presents bursary

Queensland Country Women's Association Central Highlands Division president Val Beak (pictured left) has presented the group's annual bursary to Amanda Newman, a Bachelor of Learning Management (Early Childhood) student (pictured right).

PhotoID:1297 Miss Newman, whose home town is Springsure, is studying at CQU Rockhampton.

The annual bursary of $500 is awarded to a full-time, first-year student whose permanent home address is in the Central Highlands.

Selection is based on outstanding academic performance in conjunction with a 500 word supporting statement.

The QCWA began its long association with CQU in 1970 and a prize has been donated each year since then. In 1996, the annual prize was replaced with an annual bursary of $500.
