'Healing the Spirit' forum held at CQU Rockhampton

A free community forum is being held today (Thursday) at CQU Rockhampton Harvard Theatre (bldg 32), entitled ‘Healing the Spirit’.

Australian Rotary Health Research Fund Forum in Collaboration with Murri & Islander groups, the Rotary Club of Rockhampton East, Rockhampton Mental Health Unit, and Central Queensland University are presenting ‘Healing the Spirit’ as a Rotary Centennial Project.

Co-organiser Dawn Hay said the event was arranged to raise awareness of mental illness with the community.

“A community forum is an ideal opportunity for everyone to have a yarn or express their views on mental illness, help raise awareness and to help others to understand the information about mental illness to the wider community,” she said.

“There are people who are willing to listen and it is time we get over our fears and encourage our people to get help in this area.”.
