Bundaberg Robotics Challenge involves 14 schools

CQUniversity Bundaberg has hosted 'robotics challenge' competitors from 14 schools across the Wide Bay region.
Organiser Dr Rosie Thrupp said it was "most exciting" to see so many primary-aged children working with technology in one space.
"We had three year 8 students working as judges as well," she said.
Dr Thrupp said the third annual Bundaberg Robotics Challenge held on June 16 was a major success thanks to support from staff and students from Bundaberg Campus, the School of Education's Bachelor of Learning Management program and even other Schools and programs of the University.
"It was a delight at 1.30pm to look up into the theatre in Building 1 to see a full to overflowing theatre with parents, teachers and children from 14 schools. Sadly, the theatre was not big enough to seat them all but this did not dampen their spirits after a hard day slogging it out with their Lego NXT and presentations.
"With the support of Engineers Australia, MicroAir and individuals such as Peter Feerick (learning design student), Shontelle Lewis (ex-student, now teacher) and Donna Edmunds (ex-student), we once again engaged many young minds in thinking technologically.
"This continues to occur in partnership with Education Queensland's science team and DEEDI's Microelectronics Centre in Brisbane (Tyler Furse)."
