Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Aviation Gateway School welcomes Uni reps 

St Patrick's College in Mackay recently welcomed senior lecturer Ron Bishop and promotions/recruitment officer Terri-Anne Muscat, to discuss career choices and the Aviation degree offered by CQUniversity.

As an Aviation Gateway School, St Patrick's introduces aerospace subjects during Years 11 and 12.

Ron and Terri-Anne met 12 students and all expressed interest in utilising the SUN (Start Uni Now) program to start Aviation degree subjects while still in high school.

The University representatives also visited Mackay State High School and spoke to more than 30 students about the benefits of an Aviation degree.
