Black-tie show lifts Conservatorium profile
Published on 23 June, 2003
Congratulations to CQU (Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music) lecturer Dimitri Kopanakis on his singing performance in Darwin on June 21 at the Government House Foundation Charity Ball hosted by the Chief Administrator of the Northern Territory.
More than 400 guests attended the black tie event - including a large number of national political identities.
Dimitri performed four pieces with the Darwin Symphony Orchestra conducted by Martin Jarvis.
This has been a great profile for CQCM, according to Director Associate Professor Greg Whateley.
Assoc Professor Whateley has also congratulated Dimitri on his recent performance as part of the Queensland Pops Orchestra 'Hits of Love in Times of War' concerts in Brtisbane's Southbank Concert Hall (with a total audience of 5000).
