Photo exhibition enhances cross cultural and inter faith understanding

When the whole nation is shocked by the racial turmoil erupted from the Sydney area, CQU has sponsored a solo art exhibition entitled “Worship in Asian Folklores” in Rockhampton, Central Queensland.

PhotoID:2585 Stephen Lin, a recipient of a recent grant from CQU’s Regional Centre of the Arts, opened his exhibition a few days ahead of schedule at request of the gallery to fit into its Open Day.

The exhibition has provided local residents, migrants and visitors with a unique opportunity to experience other faith and religious rituals.

CQU staff, students and the public can be proud of this sponsorship and establish some personal association with other cultures where most of our international students come from.

“Regional Centre of the Arts and its funded projects have inspired members in the public to record, respect and restore historical, cultural and religious objects, amongst other benefits,” Mr Lin said.

PhotoID:2586 The event has strengthened the Centre’s connection with other groups and stakeholders in the community.
