Live audio-visual performances a success in Bundaberg

The Bundaberg Media Research Group, CQUniversity Bundaberg Campus and the Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery recently presented LIVE CINEMA, 2 evenings of live audio-visual improvisation and performance in mid-April...
On Saturday, April 18, Bundaberg artist (and lecturer) Dr Grayson Cooke* and international artist Mike Cooper** performed a series of live audio-visual works entitled Trystero System.
LINK here to see ABC's video coverageThese performances used multiple digital projectors, laptops and other strange devices to create an immersive audio-visual experience.
Then, on Monday April 20, Mike Cooper performed a live soundtrack to the Sergei Paradjanov film The Colour of Pomegranates.
"The gigs were an absolute success, and really fun to both take part in, and experience... we've had good audience feedback." Dr Cooke said.

**Mike Cooper is a musician and artist of international acclaim. From his base in Rome, he tours the world performing live soundtracks to famous silent films, and giving workshops that explain and demonstrate the technologies and techniques he uses to construct his soundtracks.
*Dr Grayson Cooke is an interdisciplinary scholar and new media artist who lectures in digital media at the Bundaberg Campus of CQUniversity. Mike and Grayson have performed together in Bundaberg and in Wellington, NZ, and are teaming up once again to provide the Bundaberg region with an evening of spectacular and innovative audio-visual entertainment.
