Winners announced for Harmony Day speech competition

The winners have been announced for the Harmony Day speech competition coordinated by CQU.
Students from seven high schools participated in the competition. The winner was Amanda Acutt from the Girls Grammar School and the runner-up was Georgene Jeffreys from St Ursulas College.
The winner and runner-up received trophies and a cash prize with certificate. Their speech will be broadcasted on ABC Radio.
The adjudicators were Professor Elizabeth Taylor, AO, Mark Ross and Gina Yarrow.
Harmony Day is the time when Australians come together to rejoice in the many cultures that make up our country and to demonstrate their rejection of discrimination and racism.
