On board with ESOS

Each Faculty, Division and Campus should have returned its handbook changes and edits to Leonie Challacombe, Manager, Corporate Publications (07 4923 2549). In preparing submission for the 2003 CQU Handbook, university staff members need to be aware of the requirements imposed on the University by the Education Services for Overseas Student Act 2000 (ESOS), especially when preparing promotional materials and publications, which includes the Handbook.

The University recently completed work on its own ESOS Operating Guide, which can be located at http://www.international.cqu.edu.au/esos/contents.htm.

The Guide provides information on the ESOS requirements that have to be met when preparing promotional materials and publications. Use the check off lists for the CQU Handbook and prospectuses contained in the Marketing section of the ESOS Operating Guide to ensure your entry contains all the necessary information required under the legislation.

Any changes that may be needed can be made following the distribution of the second draft of the handbook on Monday 9 September. Final approval of handbook entries is required by 23rd of September. The handbook goes live on-line on 7 October in conjunction with re-enrolment and registration periods.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to Leonie or Ross Springolo, Corporate Development Manager at 3295 1121.
