CQUni staff graduates enjoy social lunch
Published on 25 March, 2011
Staff graduates at the CQUniversity's Rockhampton campus enjoyed getting together for a chat at the third ‘Staff Graduate Lunch' last week.
Following on from the functions held in Mackay and Bundaberg last year, Rockhampton staff were introduced to the network and caught up with new and long-serving colleagues.
Graduate Relations Manager, Jo Nitz coordinated the function and led the group in a discussion about the services the Graduate Relations office currently provides business units and opportunities that exist to expand on this service.
Networking at the graduate staff lunch in Rockhampton."Our office can source alumni for selection panels, guest speaking opportunities, testimonials, mentoring and committees just to name a few. For example, we are assisting People & Culture to source high-profiled alumni for their ‘leadership series'," said Jo.
"Since the inception of our office, we have been working really hard on cleansing our database and improving our data and building relationships, so it can be a resource for other departments and faculties. To date, the University has just over 60,000 alumni and we are in regular contact with 52% of our alumni, which is a great achievement.
"Business units are also able to contact alumni through the Graduate Relations office to invite them to events or undertake surveys."
The Graduate Relations Office is working closely with ITD and will shortly be enhancing the Staff Graduate Network through the new portal.
