Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Japanese nursing students' packed program in Rocky 

A group of nursing students from Nagasaki's Kwassui University managed to pack in a lot during their recent visit arranged by the English Language Centre at CQUniversity Rockhampton.

As well as polishing their English skills, the students were able to attend nursing lectures and interact with CQUniversity's nursing students and academics.

They still found time to visit local tourist attractions including Great Keppel Island, the Capricorn Caves, Rockhampton Heritage Village and the Dreamtime Cultural Centre.
