Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Nursing advice well received at RoadTek 

Nursing and Health Studies Head of School Dr Lorna Moxham recently addressed RoadTek representatives about workplace rehabilitation.

Dr Moxham spoke about how injured workers and employers need to work together to facilitate an early return to work for the employee. "I talked about how an early return to work was beneficial and we explored why," she said.

The safety coordinator and senior project manager from RoadTek Asset Services North - Capricornia Work Centre have presented Dr Moxham with a framed certificate of appreciation for her input.
