Graduates invited to Open Day

Central Queensland University graduates will have the opportunity to catch up with old classmates and staff at next Sunday’s (Sunday 3 August) CQU Gladstone Open Day.
CQU Gladstone Head of Campus, Associate Professor Bob Prater said this year’s celebrations were particularly special as the university was celebrating 25 years in the Gladstone community.
“We’ve been running classes in Gladstone for the past 25 years and although many of our students have moved to locations all over the world, we still have over 700 graduates living in the region.
“We’re inviting those graduates to come to our Open Day on Sunday for an Alumni BBQ and to the launch of our commemorative booklet which reveals the history of the campus,” said Mr Prater.
The historical booklet, “An Evolving Partnership: 25 years of CQU at Gladstone” was researched and compiled by CQU graduate and local historian, Dr Grace Johansen.
“We will have all of our old photographs on display, including the class photographs that were taken each year,” said Mr Prater.
The Open Day is open to the public and free activities for all the family will be running throughout the day including Lego robots and STEPS information sessions.
