Rocky Campus sausage sizzle helps combat diabetes

More than 3 million Australians have diabetes or pre-diabetes and Diabetes Australia is the only charity caring for all people with diabetes.

Dale Trott, Department of Health and Human Performance, and Toni McLean, Department of Nursing and Health Studies, have decided to dive right in and organise a 'Great Australian Bite' Sausage Sizzle to raise funds for research on this deadly disease.

‘We see this as an important issue worthy of our time and effort. We also see this as a great opportunity to demonstrate the interdepartmental collaboration," said Dale and Toni.

‘We've also value-added to the Sausage Sizzle by providing a raffle. So do buy a ticket when you're there".

We invite friends, family, colleagues, clients, students or neighbours to the ‘Great Australian Bite'.

We'll be asking for a donation, so please bring along your wallets and purses and pull out that small change for a worthy cause.

Place: Central Library lawns.

Date: April 3, 2007.

Time: Noon.

Duration: 1 hour.
