Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Entries sought for senate prize 

The President of the Australian Senate, Senator the Hon Paul Calvert, invites entries for the Richard Baker Senate Prize, valued at $3000, for the best essay, article, thesis, dissertation, book or journalism (in any medium) relating to the work of the Australian Senate.

The prize is awarded annually and seeks to promote the knowledge of the Australian Senate and its work. The prize is named in honour of the first President of the Australian Senate, the Hon. Sir Richard Baker, KCMG.

Entries may be submitted by their authors or nominated by any other person. The closing date for entries for the prize is August 11, 2006.
