Information booth was outstanding success

The Central Queensland University (CQU) information booth at Caneland Central last week was an outstanding success, according to Head of Mackay Campus Phillip Clift.

PhotoID:2643 “We were very happy with the number of people who approached us over the three day period,” said Phillip. “We received over 500 enquiries and the majority related to specific courses of study at CQU Mackay".

“We received a particularly large number of enquiries about the innovative Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) program offered through CQU, which provides non-school leavers and mature-age students with the skills, knowledge and confidence to commence and succeed at university”.

“We are currently following up on a number of enquiries and expect to see some positive impact on our enrolment figures for 2006 as a result of this activity,” said Professor Clift.

CQU Mackay expects to continue this type of marketing activity in 2006 as “taking the campus to the crowds” has proven to be a successful way of getting in touch with the target market.
