Getting better qualifications without leaving the workplace is a reality with CQU

More programs available by distanced education in 2007 CQU have for the first time in 2007 offered an engineering career pathway that can be studied by distance education. Students can pursue professional development opportunities without having to leave their paid employment. Students are able to apply the theoretical details of their studies to their work environments. Organisations can address the skills shortage by developing their organisational skill base from within.

Study options are available for people working in a wide variety of engineering careers. All available by distance education so students can work whilst they learn. Tradespeople, drafters and engineering cadets would be suited to studying an Associate Degree of Engineering. Team Leaders, Technical specialists, Workshop Managers and those looking with higher level Engineering skills would be suited to the Bachelor of Engineering Technology. Those wanting to become professionally qualified Engineers should consider the bachelor of Engineering program. There is the opportunity for students to articulate between programs.

There are study options for those in the mining sector who wish to progress their careers. Programs are available in mining with options to study underground or surface mining. There are also study options in the mineral processing area.

For those people working within the maintenance area there are study options in the maintenance management program.

Distance programs are also available in areas such as occupational health & safety, procurements and business management. ENDS Contact point.
