Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Research aims for healthier nurses 

A CQUniversity research team led by Professor Brenda Happell has gained a Queensland Nursing Council (QNC) grant worth $29,000 for research aimed at ensuring nurses are healthier.

The project is entitled 'Promotion of physical and psychosocial well being of nurses in a regional Queensland hospital'.

Professor Happell's project team includes Professor Kerry Mummery, Dr Kerry Reid-Searl, Dr Trudy Dwyer, Matthew Johnston, Dr Karena Burke and Dr Cristina Caperchione.

The QNC research projects were awarded in 5 categories and recipients will be officially recognised during an award function in August.
