PhD graduate launches 'Play Therapy' conference

CQUniversity PhD graduate Judi Parson will launch the Australasia Pacific Play Therapy Association Conference, scheduled for August 26-28 in Launceston, Tasmania...
Dr Parson is associated with our International Program of Psycho-Social Health Research (IPP-SHR).
The theme of this year's conference is:
'Working together for child health through play therapy: Attachment and family relationships'.
Keynote speakers include Robin Grille and Robyn Moore. The conference will include a series of plenary and concurrent sessions as well as interactive workshops.
The event will likely appeal to a diversity of academics, professionals and interested members of the public, including play therapists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, music and art therapists, child health professionals and teachers.
Dr Parson presented a nursing perspective for her PhD research into the 'Integration of procedural play for children undergoing cystic fibrosis treatment'.
She is now working towards developing an educational procedural play program for paediatric healthcare professionals interested in integrating play into their clinical work.
