Teens to experience 'real' science

Up to 40 Year 10 students from Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Gladstone, Tannum Sands, Yeppoon, Blackwater and Mt Morgan will converge on CQUniversity Rockhampton next week for a program titled the Science Experience.

The 3-day program (January 19 to 21) will enable students to experience the ‘real world' of science with opportunities to take part in many hands-on workshops across a range of fields.

Workshops will include motor construction, bridge construction, forensics, physiology, pharmacology, vermaculture, hydroponics and tone generation.

The Science Experience will also enable students to work with CQUniversity lecturers and chat with guest speakers who work in relevant fields.

It is anticipated students will gain an insight into the varied careers the sciences have to offer.
