Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Do-It-Yourself WebCT workshops offered 

DTLS has arranged for training in a a suite of tools that allow lecturers to provide technically advanced online courses without needing high level technical skills. This series, conducted by Phillipa Sturgess, is designed for lecturers who want to get started in creating their own online course using WebCT, or want to add to an existing WebCT course. Each workshop in this series will look at a different aspect of WebCT and will include hands on experience with the WebCT tools and features.

Also, the Multimedia Design Centre at DTLS offers the option of fully supported development for 'going online'. If, due to Research or Teaching workloads, you are unable to do this work yourself the Multimedia Design Centre staff will develop your course for you. The support is free of charge for undergraduate programs and will include access to multimedia and educational design services, graphic artists, programmers and web developers. At the completion of your course the Multimedia Design Centre will provide a brief one-on-one instructional session to ensure you know how to use the 'tools' you have selected for your course.
