Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Clip for Cancer raises more than $5500 

More than $5500 has been raised for cancer research thanks to a Clip for Cancer Relay for Life fundraiser in the CQU Rockhampton Commercial Centre courtyard on Thursday.

Olympic champion cyclist Anna Meares spent more than an hour clipping, cutting and colouring for the good cause.

Kieran Smith (pictured) and David Turner were among the CQU Finance staff members to go the chop, while other staff members had their hair coloured.

An amount of $2800 was raised via other fundraisers held by the teams based in Finance.
