Central Queensland University's Biomedical Sciences degree has become an export success with an enthusiastic reception in Singapore.
The degree which is offered via CQU campuses in Rockhampton, Bundaberg and Mackay (first-year only in Bundaberg and Mackay) is now a star performer in one of Asia's most high-tech countries.
Around 60 fee-paying CQU students are already enrolled in Singapore, thanks to a venture between CQU and local education provider Hartford Singapore (Hartford has recently been taken over by Raffles La Salle Group in Singapore).
The Singapore offering is a top-up degree award specifically tailored to the Polytechnic graduate student pool who want to upgrade from diploma to degree status.
CQU Associate Professor Graham Pegg (pictured) said the pioneering cohort, many of whom are young women, are enthusiastic and are graduates of the high standard Sinagpore Polytechnic system.
Associate Professor Pegg said he had given a presentation to prospective Winter-term entry students, who were also keen on the degree.
"The program is a belting success and is backed up by excellent graduate satisfaction survey results here in Australia as well," he said.
