Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Wallace at helm of harbour campus

Long-serving CQU academic Dr Andrew Wallace has been appointed as Head of Campus (Acting) for CQU Gladstone.

PhotoID:2998 He fills the vacancy left with the departure of Associate Professor Rob Prater last week.

Dr Andrew Wallace has lectured at CQU Gladstone, mostly in the area of Communication and Cultural Studies, since 1990.

Interested in a range of creative arts, he was active in promoting drama as an extra-curricular activity for much of the 1990s.

He was Head of the School of Contemporary Communication 2000-2003, the first staff member from a campus outside Rockhampton to serve a term in such a position.
